Itzi was born in Spain, one year after graduating from University she decided to move to Brighton with a backpack full of dreams and not much of an idea of what to do with her future. She slowly settled and started her career in tourism and leisure - making her way up from room cleaner to management.
Somehow meditation appeared in her life before the asanas did as she was trying to cope with the mental challenges of a very stressful job. Her first contact with yoga was in 2016, but her regular practice was established a year later when one of her dearest friends introduced her to Bikram. Although she didn’t quite enjoy her first class, she very much liked the way she felt after the class... and just like that she was hooked. Despite being very busy, she returned to the studio nearly every day, as she felt the more she practiced, the more time she had for everything else in her life.
During this time she stumbled across Ashtanga. She was able to practice under the guidance of Doug Taukobong-olsen - level 2 authorised to share the primary and intermediate series by Shri R. Sharath Jois - and as she found her breath she also fell in love with the Full Primary Series.
In February 2019, due to reallocation with work, she found It’s Yoga Brighton and a few months later decided to start her 200hr training.
'I am incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to be a facilitator, but I will, also, always be a student. Yoga is a life time practice of love and compassion; it is a journey of acceptance and self-realization. For me, yoga is the path to getting to know who I truly am and to serving my higher purpose.'
