At It’s Yoga, we dissolve the hierarchy of postures and invite beginners and advanced practitioners to practice in the same room - heightening energy and inspiration in the class. The same student may be advanced in one posture, and a beginner in the next. When the breath opens up the practice, the forms and levels of the poses shift and we all - the poses and the practitioners - become equal.
Honouring every student’s potential is an essential part of what we do. We trust that the practice will support each individual in growing at the pace that best serves them - whether this is through our signature Rocket® sequences or our more restorative classes. We believe that in our modern - and often hectic world - we need a little bit of both.
For a complete experience, we encourage you to practice the whole It's Yoga system over a period of three months to begin to see significant changes on and off the mat.
This class is the perfect way to introduce you to your own self-practice and always great to revisit regularly to ground and check in. A modification of the traditional Ashtanga Primary Series, the MPS includes sun salutations, standing and seated postures.
The first part of the class will start with a warm-up of sun salutations to build up heat. The standing series promotes balance and symmetry and aids in the process of detoxification and tonification of the body. The final part of class is a deeper focus on seated postures with the intention of keeping poses modified and accessible to each student's individual level. A seated meditation and/or finishing sequence will conclude the practice with deep relaxation; savasana.
The MPS class introduces you to the breathing and movement techniques specific to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and is designed with beginners in mind.
The first series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and the basis for all other sequences we practice. This is a fluid class that aims to bring the body into a very particular sequence of postures, with a focus on 'yoga chikitsa' or 'yoga therapy' - focusing on forward folds in order to cleanse and tone our organs.
The Primary Series is open to beginners and advanced physical levels, while the intention of the class is to learn to link the breath and movement together creating a moving, breathing meditation.
At It’s Yoga, we practice with modifications to allow more freedom and discovery in this traditional sequence.
All levels of practitioners are welcome to Rocket 1 - known as 'The Feel-Good sequence', it establishes a strong and fun foundation for the week. We will focus on strengthening the legs, shoulders and abdominals while also developing stamina and balance. Be ready to move a bit faster and get a lot stronger!
The Rocket 1 routine integrates postures from the first and second series of Ashtanga, and is mostly similar to the Primary Series, with the option to begin to explore an arm balance and inversion practice for those who wish to.
It is a great foundation-builder as well as offering lots to more advanced practitioners.
Rocket 2 is an opening and invigorating sequence, and is what The Rocket's all about - "getting you there faster". A little more geared towards intermediate and advanced students - though all levels are still welcome - this routine includes variations of poses from the second and third series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
Rocket 2 focuses on strength poses, backbends and hip openers and there are plenty of inversion and arm balance options for those who want to fly!
Modifications will be offered and encouraged as we build the practice from the ground up. As we guide you to stay connected to your breath, this sequence can become deeply empowering, transformative and healing.
Dubbed across all It's Yoga centres as the "Happy Hour", "The Rocket®" 3 is when we all join together in celebration of the week. Including all the asanas of the It’s Yoga® System – 90 poses in 90 minutes, it is a fusion of Rocket® 1 and 2 - including forward-bending, back-bending, arm-balances and abdominal awakening as well as inversions.
Accessible for all levels as long as you're open to modifying and listening to your body as well as a great opportunity for those wishing to take their practice to the next horizon. The Rocket® 3 is a high-energy class that leaves the body charged with energy. The perfect way to start the weekend!
A shorter 1 hour long Rocket practice - designed especially for your morning routine and suitable for all levels. Depending on the day of the week and who's in the room, this will consist of a slightly slower, modified Rocket 1 or 2 with fewer inversions and arm-balance options and more focus on the foundations of the practice.
As always, this is your practice and as such you can take it wherever you need it to be on any given day!
A shorter 45 minute Rocket practice - designed especially for your lunchtime and yet giving you all the benefits of a full yoga practice.
A great way to get energised in the middle of the day!
Yin / Yang is a balanced class combining both dynamic flow and yin sequences. For the yang part, we will concentrate on developing our deep core abdominal muscles through balance, strength and flexibility, resulting in improved breathing, muscle tone, digestion and overall vitality in the body.
For the yin part, we learn to drop down and let go of deep held tension in the body, so there is more spaciousness to reconnect to ourselves.
A Yin Yoga practice consists of deep, searching and opening sequences of asanas or postures, held on the floor for anything from 3 to 5 minutes. We reconnect with the deeper areas of our bodies, predominately the connective tissues that wrap around and hold our joints together. Through exercising these 'yin' tissues, we will stimulate the energetic meridian system of the body and begin to explore and release physical, mental and emotional tension. Everyone's body is different, and so, throughout the practice, we encourage you to listen to your inner teacher and to find your own unique variation/modification at any given moment, day, week or month. Infusing the practice with an intention of self-acceptance, kindness and creativity, the result is deep regeneration which empowers us in a gentle way.
A slow practice using bolsters, blocks and blankets to fully support the body, triggering its natural relaxation response. All poses are on the floor and being held for 6-15 minutes each.
This is a beautiful way to unwind and reconnect with your feeling body without much activity and a perfect complement to our more active classes. We recommend trying a Rocket and Restorative back to back!

A yoga journey / playgroup with games, animal poses and story telling - aimed at children aged 2 to 5 and their families. Older children can join in but tailored to the little ones!
PAY WHAT YOU CAN - these classes are donation based, with a suggested donation of £5-8.
